Police Motorcycle Partnership Begins Today
Last week, Lynnfield Police Department announced partnership aimed at raising funds for a motorcycle.
Earlier in the week, this website ran an announcement from the Lynnfield Police about a partnership with the Kelly Automotive Group that aims to help the department get a motorcycle for traffic control and other purposes.
From there, I got some additional information about the deal while doing this separate story about the new electric Leaf vehicles at the Kelly Nissan dealership on Route 1.
According to Brian Kelly, owner of the Kelly Automotive Group, the partnership takes effect as of Wednesday, Feb. 1 and runs until further notice. Basically, any Lynnfield resident who buys a car at one of the eight Kelly dealerships will have $50 donated to a fund for the motorcycle.
Kelly has done similar fundraising efforts in Pabody and Beverly. In Beverly, the fundraising effort helped pay for an artificial turf field, while Peabody's program raised funds for the Higgins Middle School after school program after its state funding was cut.

Motorcycle partnership a great idea. All towns should have at least 1 motorcycle as they provide access to areas a car can't get too.

What a waste of money and it endangers the lives of the officer that rides it. This town needs a compass.
