Week one of the Lynnfield Community Schools' Summer of Fun Activities program is now underway - and it's not too late to get involved in a wide variety of activities as the program continues through the summer.

To learn more about this summer's various SOFA activities or to register for one of the upcoming weeks or programs, check out the online brochure here.

On Monday, Jack Mullarkey of the 3MB Fencing Club in Beverly was back in Lynnfield to introduce a new crop of kids to this ancient sport. For more about fencing, check out this article from last summer.

In the exercise shown above, Mullarkey assigns each of his students a number and calls out two of them. From there, the kids try to be the first to snatch the flag from Mullarkey's hand, advancing using only fencing steps.
