New Men's Spa Opens on Peabody Side of Suntaug Lake

Men's Spa at the Mansion opened by two Peabody natives in historic building on Lake Street.

Peabody natives Andy Brancato and Dave Raymond recently opened the Men’s Spa at the Mansion at 187 Lake Street to give men “a place of their own” to go for high-end grooming treatments. They’ve created a male-friendly environment in the historic wooded mansion overlooking Suntaug Lake. At the spa, guys can shoot pool, read the news on an iPad, watch the game on a flat screen TV, or purchase a cigar to smoke on the deck overlooking the lake before receiving a top-of-line grooming treatment. The salon offers a full array of high-quality salon services, including haircuts and high-quality hair color, manicures, pedicures, and hot-towel shaves.

“Guys want to enjoy the services that girls enjoy, but don’t have a place of their own,” says Brancato, who has sold beauty products to barber shops throughout New England for 15 years.

Spa and salon services exclusively for men are one of the biggest trends in the spa industry, with Spafinder Wellness ranking men’s services as one of the top ten trends for 2013.

Raymond, a Peabody native and retired state trooper, says he and Brancato wanted to create a place for men who may not feel comfortable in a traditional salon environment. He and Brancato plan to offer special events and promotions for first-responders, such as police and firefighters, and military service members. The Spa at the Mansion will also host car shows on Sunday afternoons throughout the summer, as weather permits.

“It's a great place for women to send their man to get groomed or for kids to send their Dad for Father's Day,” Brancato says.

Brancato and Raymond invite the community to celebrate Father’s Day at the Spa with half-price haircuts through Father’s Day on June 16. They’re also offering a 20 percent discount on gift certificates of $50 or $100 through Father’s Day. Customers can take a tour of the historic mansion when they stop by to purchase a gift certificate for Dad.

The Men’s Spa at the Mansion is now open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday.
