MarketStreet Now Has 15 Buildings Under Construction

Latest update from National Development indicates 15 buildings plus the golf course now under construction at site.

The MarketStreet at Lynnfield project now has 15 buildings under construction simultaneously, according to an update on National Development’s MarketStreetConstruction.com website.

Some signs of things to come can be seen from the future MarketStreet entrance on Walnut Street – primarily the structures that in late 2013 will be home to Whole Foods, Legal C Bar, and other major tenants. In fact, the structure that will house the Whole Foods, Building 100, is reportedly now being enclosed by workers.

Also, National Development reports that Arborpoint at MarketStreet, with 180 luxury apartments, is on track to open this fall and that along with three residential buildings, foundations for the future golf course clubhouse are now being worked on. The future JP Licks ice cream is reportedly expected to front the golf course green in what will be known as Building 600.

Some construction photos taken right after the New Year are also now posted on the National Development website at this link.

What a disgrace to have this in a beautiful small town! A prime example of the userped way of government! The citizens of Lynnfield were against this and the local gangs in the town hall approved this because it was a way for them to gain more tax revenue so they can rob the public treasury! And yet homeowners will be seeing a property tax increase anyway!

I need to correct you...our fellow Lynnfielders (or is it -ites?) voted this in. I was at the 99 the night this was approved and everyone from town government was there high fiving this GREAT addition to our town. They wantedc it and promoted it, but the voters approved it.

The people on "that side of Lynnfield" will be paying for it in the devaluation of their property, the traffic, the crime and the overall lower standard of living. The ones that sat at home the night of the vote should be ashamed! The ones that voted for it are idiots (IMHO). If they wanted a mall, they should have moved to Saugus or Burlington. They have no idea what they have gotten the town into.

And yes, taxes are up because we need more police and fire to support the anticipated demand by the mall development project. Boy, who coulda seen that coming huh????? The $1MM the town prostituted themselves for will be gone faster than a stack of ones at the Golden Banana!

Remember to start locking your cars folks! The mall is coming and so is the crime!

Their properties won't be devalued as far as what they pay in property tax, their properties will be devalued as far as what they will sell it for when the userped town goverment continues to raise their property taxes! The crime is more likely to come from the designated 40b apartments they snuck into the development! hey that's a few more votes for the democratic party! the crime will come from the 40b just like The Lynnfield Commons! And as far as the police, they love crime, with all the overtime and longer court hours, there will be a lot more overtime to be paid out and more details at this mall! the police union will love this!

I forgot about hte 40B apartments! I remember we were essentially "threatened" with the prospect of 40B apartments. "You had better let us build this mall or we will put in apartments!". Now we have both.

I don't blame the developers for a moment. It is their job to make money. We allowed this to happen. What a disgrace!

I understand the anger by these types of developments, but it already has and will continue to create jobs for people. Its not like people are going to be driving all the way up through Lynnfield from way other parts of of MA to get there, people are going to come From RT.1 or 128. Small towns don't stay small forever and its in the retail / industrial zone of Lynnfield anyways. So would you rather just keep it empty?
