Lynnfield Resident Gets NSMC Nursing Award

The following is an announcement from North Shore Medical Center:

North Shore Medical Center recently honored seven of its registered nurses and caregivers for outstanding service and clinical excellence. Awards included the Broadhead Clinical Excellence Award, the Broadhead Clinical Nursing Excellence Award for Advanced Practice, the NSMC Nursing Leadership Award, and the Blodgett Award.

The Broadhead Clinical Excellence Awards were presented to three nurses to recognize clinical excellence: Catherine Gallant, R.N –Union Hospital Intensive Care Unit (Lynnfield), Marta Kane, R.N. – Salem Hospital Birthplace, (Swampscott), Dorris O'Leary, R.N. – Union Hospital Post Anesthesia Care Unit (Groveland).

Broadhead Clinical Nursing Excellence Award for Advanced Practice: Carrie Siefken, R.N. – Salem Hospital Birthplace (Swampscott)

NSMC Nursing Leadership: Melissa Bruning, R.N. – Salem Hospital Adult Inpatient Psychiatry Unit (Peabody) This award recognizes a nurse manager who exemplifies the professional nursing and organizational values of NSMC through their management and leadership skills. This nurse manager excels in quality improvement, employee satisfaction, financial management and patient satisfaction.

Blodgett Award: Becky Delande, C.N.A. – Salem Hospital Davenport 8th floor (Danvers); Melissa Kimball, R.N. – Salem Hospital Phippen 7th floor, (Hamilton).

This award is given in honor of Donald W. Blodgett, who was an NSMC Trustee for 30 years. For this award, nurses nominate their peers based on exemplary service to patients, families and nursing colleagues.
