Lynnfield Housing Authority to Receive Over $40K in State Funds
State Rep. Brad Jones Jr. and State Sen. Thomas McGee announce funds to be used for public housing improvement projects.
Representative Bradley H. Jones, Jr. (R-North Reading) and Senator Thomas McGee (D-Lynnfield), in conjunction with the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and Lynnfield Housing Authority (LHA), are pleased to announce the funding award for Lynnfield for Fiscal Year 2015 will total $41,877.
Awarded by the Department of Housing and Community Development as part of a statewide funding initiative, the three year funding program will help cities and towns throughout the Commonwealth implement public housing improvement projects.
“This award will give Lynnfield the resources necessary to improve the conditions of its public housing,” said Representative Jones. “I am grateful that the town is a recipient of this extended funding award, and I look forward to the positive impact it will undoubtedly have on our community.”
“It is important that we continue to make these types of investments in our communities,” said Senator McGee. “These funds will help the Lynnfield Housing Authority to make improvements that will enhance the quality of life for its residents.”
The FY15 formula funding award was granted upon approval of the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) submitted by the LHA earlier this year. This plan not only contains improvement projects, but also utilizes LHA energy data to combine this award with federal, state, and utility funding to implement energy upgrades in public housing developments.
