Scott Brown (R), Elizabeth Warren (D): U.S. Senate

Scott Brown has represented Massachusetts in the U.S. Senate since a January 2010 special election held to fill the U.S. Senate seat vacated by the late Ted Kennedy. Brown defeated state Attorney General Martha Coakley with 1,168,107 votes, or 51.9 percent, to her 1,058,682 votes, or 47.1 percent.

Rep. John Tierney (D), Richard Tisei (R): 6th Congressional District

John Tierney has been the Conressman representing Lynnfield for the past 16 years. He faces off against Richard Tisei, a former State Senate Republican leader and the owner of Northrup Realtors in Lynnfield. In 2010, Tierney defeated Republican challenger Bill Hudak, 57-43%.

Rep. Brad Jones (R): 20th Middlesex District

Jones, who also serves as House Republican Leader, has been the state representative for Lynnfield and other nearby towns for the past 17 years.

Lynnfield Updates From The Polls 

10:30 p.m. - Turnout was heavy in Lynnfield's voting today, and town voters tended to lean Republican. A look at how Lynnfield voted for the candidates and on state ballot questions is below. On Wednesday, a breakdown of how the town's four precincts voted will be posted on this website.

5:35 p.m. - Salem-based company Major League Investments has sent a news release around offering the following predictions for Election Night 2012: They expect Obama and Brown to win re-election and Tisei to defeat Tierney. But the predictions are far from firm. "Some of the sectors that potentially may perform well under Obama include hard assets and healthcare, and under Romney may include defense, energy and financials," said CEO Michael Finer. Either way, we've got less than three hours now until the polls close.

2:40 p.m. - Of the handful of people who stood outside Lynnfield High School supporting candidates early Tuesday afternoon, Cori Connor Morse of Lynnfield was focused on a ballot question - specifically, she was expressing her opposition to Question 2, which would allow physician-assisted suicide in Massachusetts. She told Lynnfield Patch that she had also been over in Lynn with a Vote No On 2 sign earlier in the day and would probably go back there later.

Phil Buchek of Lynnfield was holding several signs for Barack Obama and Elizabeth Warren at LHS. He joked that he is one of the few Democrats in Lynnfield and said that he will usually go out and hold signs for his party's candidates when Election Day comes around.

Nearby, David Comeau and Bert Beaulieu, both of whom work for Tisei's Northrup Realtors in Lynnfield, were campaigning for the Republican candidate, joined by fellow town resident Ernie Markey - who confirmed that he is indeed a relative of the prominent Democratic Congressman.  

2:25 p.m. - Traffic was steady heading into the town polling station at Lynnfield High School earlier this afternoon. A handful of people also stood outside with signs for their respective candidates. Their numbers are likely to swell considerably as the work day winds down. 9:10 a.m. - If you're voting later today, keep an eye out for members of Lynnfield's Cub Scout Pack 47, who will be holding their popcorn sale outside the polling area at the high school.

8:35 a.m. - Lynnfielders can expect at least one last-minute candidate visit today. Richard Tisei's campaign reports that he will be stopping by the town's Lynnfield High School polling station at 2:30 p.m.

7 a.m. - Town polling station opens at 7 a.m. at Lynnfield High School.
