Lynn Man Summonsed After Pulling Onto Munroe Street From Route 1

Information is provided by the Lynnfield Police. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Lynnfield Police responded to these and other calls for service on Wednesday, April 25 and Thursday, April 26.

Wednesday, April 25

At 6:19 a.m., police were alerted to a fire alarm activation on Roundy Road. The problem was actually caused by steam from the shower, which activated the alarm.

At 9:12 a.m., police received a burglar alarm activation on Hutchins Circle. The alarm was accidentally set up off by a cleaning lady.

At 7:55 p.m., police received a call about ash and smoke coming from a chimney on Grove Street. The Fire Department handled the matter.  

Thursday, April 26

At 8 a.m., police received a call about a motor vehicle accident at Salem Street and Ramsdell Way. One driver rear-ended another car when his foot reportedly slipped from the brake. There were no injuries.

At 10:34 a.m., police received a call about a brush fire at the end of the Walnut Street exit ramp. It was actually a permit fire.

At 4:56 p.m., police received a call about a motor vehicle accident at Lowell Street and Norris Road.

At 5:08 p.m., police summonsed a 31-year-old Lynn man for improper operation of a motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Police handed out the summons on Munroe Street after the driver turned onto Munroe Street from Route 1 North though it is marked Do Not Enter from 3 to 6 p.m.

At 5:21 p.m., a caller reported a man walking a bike and carrying a backpack on Walnut Street. Police spoke to the man who was retracing his steps and looking for his missing cell phone.
