Little Competition On Horizon In Town Election
Outside of Phil Crawford running for selectman, other candidates to pull papers so far are seeking re-election to their respective posts.
A check with the office of Lynnfield Town Clerk Amy Summers on Tuesday found that no contested races have emerged at this point for the April 8th town election.
Earlier this month, Phil Crawford, vice chair of the finance committee, announced that he would run for the selectman’s seat vacated on Dec. 31 by Al Merritt, who stepped down due to an illness.
Bob MacKendrick, current chair of the Lynnfield Board of Selectman, also announced at a recent meeting that he plans to seek re-election to one more term.
Otherwise, Summers reported that Arthur Bourque has taken out papers for re-election as town moderator, and Barbara Casey has taken out papers for re-election to the Lynnfield Housing Authority. On the school committee so far, current chair Dorothy Presser and fellow incumbent Susie Cleary have pulled papers for re-election, said Summers.
