To the Editor:

On behalf of the Lynnfield Athletics Association, I would like to thank the residents of Lynnfield for their generosity on Tag Day (Sunday, October 14). Each year on Tag Day, all Lynnfield High School athletes from all seasons go door to door seeking donations from the Lynnfield community.

This year’s Tag Day was a success, despite the wet weather. Donations will be used to benefit all LHS student-athletes. Nearly two-thirds of all LHS students are involved in LHS sports.

The Lynnfield Athletics Association (LAA) is a booster group that provides financial support throughout the year for every team at Lynnfield High School. LAA purchases uniforms, equipment, trophies, and other basic items. LAA also sponsors scholarships and athlete awards. LAA events also include the annual July Fourth Road Race.

Residents can visit the LAA on the Lynnfield High School website under Athletics to learn more about what we do. We also invite residents to visit the LHS gym to view the new trophy cases and championship banners. Come to a volleyball match, a football game, a track meet, a soccer game, or a field hockey game this fall or attend a sporting event this winter or next spring to see LHS athletes in action.
