Get Organized With Susan Parziale

Patch had a chance to speak with professional organizer Susan Parziale and learn about what she offers Lynnfield residents.

Susan Parziale knows how to manage things around the house. She is a professional organizer focused on helping people who have either recently moved or are too busy to manage all the little things involved in moving.

From kitchens to closets, attics, garages, home filing systems or any other in-home clutter that needs to be composed, Parziale can help you get things straightened out and help alleviate the stress of the mess.

“My clients are typically women,” she said. “I'm most often used as an extra set of hands after moms have their second or third child and are just too busy with the kids to get everything thing the way they want around the house.”

Parziale's credentials as a professional organizer come from 20 years of experience working as an administrative assistant at a law firm in the Boston area. After retiring from this avenue of work, Susan wanted to go into business for herself in order to help families remove chaos from their lives through all the detailed organization tactics and fundamentals she learned while holding an office together. Added to this, Parziale is also a member of NAPO – the National Association of Professional Organizers.

One of her main jobs as a professional organizer has her selling client's old furniture and other extra knick-knacks on Craigslist. This frees up house space and makes organizing easier, also giving  Susan the chance to make some money for her clients.

Susan also specializes in another facet of life-organization, helping families deal with all the paperwork and extra attention that comes from raising a child with special needs. Susan herself has an autistic daughter, so she knows first-hand the hardships and stresses that can come from all the added work.

“I have a niche that seems untapped,” Susan said. “There is a ton of work that goes along with raising a special needs child in the home and the paperwork never ends. I specialize in helping families with a special needs child because a lot of people don't even know there are support channels available.”

Susan also does consultation work on a regular basis for those who want to take on the bulk of their organizing by themselves but just don't know where to begin. Susan can create a picture or video log of the client's home and will issue a full report on what needs to be done and what they best ways are to tackle the tough jobs.

Susan enjoys running, having just completed her first triathlon in 2009. She is also an avid biker and enjoys reading when she is not outside getting some exercise.
