Several events coming up this weekend in Lynnfield.
Today is Friday, October 19. Here are five things you need to know.
Spooky Stories: Today at 3:30 p.m., bring the kids by the Lynnfield Library for some spooky Halloween stories and a craft. No registration required.
Family Halloween Event: Looking ahead on the calendar, On Saturday, October 27 at 3 p.m., the Lynnfield Library presents “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” puppet show, by PuppeTree of Vermont. All ages are welcome.
Speaking Of Books: This Saturday, October 20th, there are two different book sale events scheduled in town. The Friends of the Library Book Sale is at the Old Meeting House from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. And, Huckleberry Hill Elementary School has its annual pancake breakfast, pumpkin decorating event and used book sale that same morning from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. I advise starting off with some pancakes.
Save The Date: This Saturday, October 20 from 7 to 11 p.m., local nonprofit group BKP (Bagong Kulturang Pinoy/New Filipino Culture) has a Halloween fundraising dance at the Wakefield Elks Club. The group sends donated books to stock libraries in impoverished communities in the Philippines. Tickets are $35 for adults and $20 for children and will feature dinner by Chef Jacky Roberts of Petit Robert, as well as a Halloween costume contest, auction and raffle, and a DJ and dancing. For tickets or more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 781-275-1183.
From The Lynnfield Senior Center: Bob Tremblay will be back to discuss indoor gardening. Learn how to winterize your garden, how to bring some of your plants in and prepare them for wintering along with quarantining and debugging them so as to not spread disease. Thursday, Oct.25th at 12:30. Free. Lunch will be served at 11:30 for $2.00/$3.00. You must sign up for lunch by 12 noon the day before. Please sign up separately for the lunch and the lecture.
