Five Things You Need To Know: November 9
Electronics recycling drive tomorrow. Last day to order pies in annual pie sale today.
Today is Friday, November 9. Here are five things you need to know,
MIAA Tournament: The LHS volleyball team defeated Shawsheen, 3-0, in an MIAA North Division 3 semifinal game Thursday on the road. Up next, LHS plays in the division final game on Saturday against Academy of Notre Dame at Lawrence High School at 1 p.m. Notre Dame was the tournament’s #1 seed with a 20-0 record, LHS is the #3 seed with a 17-3 record.
A Note From The Town: The Town of Lynnfield will hold its traditional Veterans Day observance at 11 a.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2012 on the common. Chairman of the Board of Selectmen Robert P. MacKendrick will deliver the address. A brunch will follow in the Meeting House on the common, where ceremonies will be held in the case of inclement weather. Participants are asked to gather on the common at 10:45 a.m. so the ceremonies may begin promptly at 11 a.m.
Band Boosters Pie Sale: Time is running out to order a pie for Thanksgiving in the LHS Band Boosters Pie Sale. Click here for more information. Get your orders in by Nov. 9.
Coffee House: Tonight, the Lynnfield Community Church at 735 Salem Street presents its first coffee house event, featuring folk and alternative music singer Don Hammontree. Entrance is free, all by donation. Doors open 7:30 p.m. Looking ahead, LCC’s coffee house events will be on the second and fourth Fridays of the month.
A Note From Centre Congregational Church: Wondering what to do with that old television, computer monitor or appliance that is broken, unwanted or unused and just taking up space? Bring it to Centre Congregational Church, located on the corner of Summer and Main, Lynnfield on Saturday, November 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. CRT Recycling and the High School Youth Group members will be in the church parking lot to collect your items. This is an excellent opportunity to recycle these items at a minimal charge compared to the high cost associated with curbside appliance recycling programs.
