Today is Tuesday, May 8. Here are five things you need to know.
Recreation Station: The Lynnfield Recreation Commission’s Summer 2012 Recreation Station registration form is now available here on its website. Completed forms can be mailed with payments to LRC, 55 Summer Street, Lynnfield MA 01940. Registration must be received by Friday, May 18.
Gathering Change: A couple of weeks ago, area residents turned out to support a “Dining For A Cause” at the Ninety-Nine for local nonprofit group Gathering Change. The group, which raises money for local food pantries, reports that it raised $1,028 at the event.
Town Business: The Lynnfield School Committee begins at 7 p.m. in the LHS media center. On the agenda is a hearing on school choice. Members of the community are invited to attend.
The Lynnfield Conservation Commission reports: "The Flower Workshop of Lynnfield will hold its annual plant sale on Saturday, May 12 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Meeting House on the Lynnfield Common. Offered for sale will be popular perennials, vegetables, herbs, as well as colorful annuals and hanging baskets. The sale will also feature a silent auction with specialty gardening items and a special Mother’s Day gift table including inexpensive gifts for children to purchase for their Moms."
Mother’s Day Cards: Wednesday at the Lynnfield Library, bring the kids in their PJs at 6:30 p.m. for a Mother’s Day Pajama Party featuring stories about moms and grandmothers, as well as card-making for them.
