OLA Open House:  Our Lady of the Assumption School is holding an open house on Sunday, Jan. 29 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Art Show Sunday: On Sunday, Sunrise Senior Living in Lynnfield is hosting an art show at 2 p.m. featuring the work of longtime professional artist Angelo Stavru, who is a resident there.  Art will also be available for sale.

Careful With The Commute: The temperatures aren’t expected to fall low enough to make ice a major problem on Lynnfield-area roads, but the National Weather Service forecast for Friday sees a 100% chance of precipitation today, mostly before 4 p.m.  Up to an inch of rain could end up falling, and some areas may see scattered fog. The weekend looks much better, with a blend of sun and still more unseasonably warm weather. Preschool Special Needs Screening Info: On Thursday, Feb. 2 from 7 to 8 p.m., parents of incoming preschool children identified with a disability – or those who suspect that their child may have a disability – are invited to an information session at the office of special services on 525 Salem Street. LHS sports: Today at 3 p.m., the coed JV track team competes at Ipswich High School. At 4:30 p.m., the JV wrestling team is at Masco for the NEC/CAL JV Tournament. Later, the school’s basketball teams are playing Pentucket. The boys are playing at Pentucket, with the JV game at 5 p.m. and the varsity game at 6:30 p.m. The girls are at home, also with a 5:30 p.m. JV game and a 6 p.m. varsity game.
