Five Things You Need To Know: Feb. 8
This afternoon, cheese at the library. This evening, coffee house at the high school.
Today is Wednesday, Feb. 8. Here are five things you need to know.
Cheese Making? Today at 3 p.m., the Curious About Cuisine group holds its monthly meeting at the Lynnfield Library. This month’s topic is “Can I Really Make Cheese At Home?”
LHS Coffee House: At 7 p.m., some of the students at Lynnfield High School will show their creative talents at the latest coffee house event. Admission is $5, which helps support LHS Music Department programs.
Truffle Time: Today is the last day to sign up for a presentation Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at the Lynnfield Senior Center where guests from Sunrise Senior Living will stop by to demonstrate how to make truffles and other goodies. Lunch is $2.
LHS Sports: Today on the LHS sports calendar, the varsity hockey team is at home (Peabody Rink) with an 8:15 p.m. game against Amesbury.
Books For Overseas: Earlier this winter, this website reported on the local nonprofit group BKP, which helps stock libraries in the Philippines with children’s books. Group members usually meet at the Centre Congregational Church basement once or twice a month from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to pack up books for shipment overseas. If you’ve got some books for young children through teen readers, bring them by the church this Saturday.
