Five Things You Need To Know: August 20
Library Summer Reading program winds down later this week with "Onstage With Max And Suzy."
Today is Monday, August 20. Here are five things you need to know.
Onstage With Max And Suzy: This Thursday, August 23 at 10 a.m., the library closes its 2012 summer reading program with the Kidstock Interactive Theatre production of "Onstage With Max and Suzy." After the performance, summer reading certificates will be distributed to the participants, and some prizes will be raffled.
Back To School: So begins the last full week of summer vacation in Lynnfield. Next Wednesday, August 29, it’s back to school day in Lynnfield.
Rotary Chicken Barbecue: One of the town’s longstanding traditions continues next month on the town common. The 46th Annual Lynnfield Rotary Chicken Barbecue is on Tuesday, September 11 from 4:30 to 7 p.m., with a rain date of September 12. Tickets are $6 for a hot dog dinner and $12 for the chicken. As always, the event also includes entertainment and a classic car show.
Town Business: The only town business set for this week is an assessors meeting Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at town hall.
Weather: The National Weather Service forecast for Monday has a 20% chance of precipitation, with mostly clouds in the evening. High near 82 tomorrow, indicating that the heat waves of earlier this summer may be just a memory at this point.
