Five Things You Need To Know: August 1

Family-friendly activities tonight at 6 p.m. on the town common and at the library.

 

Today is Wednesday, August 1. Here are five things you need to know.

Red Sox Party: Tonight at 6 p.m., you can bring the kids across the street to the Lynnfield Library for a Red Sox party, featuring a story about baseball, a Fenway-inspired craft, and popcorn.

Summer Concert: The town’s 2012 summer concert series wraps up tonight on the Lynnfield Common with ‘60s Invasion. The concert runs from 6 to 8 p.m.

School Committee: The Lynnfield School Committee has announced its meeting schedule for the 2012-2013 school year.  This year’s meetings have a new location – the selectmen’s room at town hall. The first meeting is Tuesday, August 28 at 7 p.m., and the next one is Tuesday, September 11, also at 7 p.m.

Drought Relief: Along with the rain that fell in the area on Tuesday night, the latest forecast from the National Weather Service contains a chance of some additional rain on Wednesday, possibly heavy at times and with some possible thunderstorms in the afternoon.
