Major snowstorm making its way to region.
Today is Monday, Jan. 10. Here are five things you need to know:
First, winter weather is back in the spotlight this week as a potentially major storm begins working its way up the East Coast. The National Weather Service has announced a winter storm watch that expires Wednesday at 7 p.m. Current forecasts are calling for a snowstorm to affect the region Tuesday evening through Wednesday.
Back to business: On Monday, the selectmen will meet at 7 p.m. at town hall. This will be their first meeting since the start of the holiday season.
Some B-Ball: Also Monday, the Lynnfield High School girls varsity basketball team has an away game at Manchester Essex Regional High School at 6:30 p.m.
Book Friends: Also at 6:30 p.m., the Friends of the Library has a board meeting at the library.
Weather Watch: Looking ahead, the snow forecast could affect a couple of significant things in town. First, Wednesday night the two finalists for Lynnfield school superintendent, Drs. Thomas Jefferson and Anne Wilson, are expected to appear at the school committee meeting Wednesday night. Also, there is a boys varsity basketball game scheduled for the LHS gym tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. against Pope John XXIII Central High School.
