Five Things You Need To Know: May 22
Today at 3:45 p.m., Lynnfield Library has "Frog And Toad" party for the kids to celebrate birthday of children's author Arnold Lobel.
Today is Tuesday, May 22. Here are five things you need to know.
Road Work: Locals are advised to avoid the Walnut Street and Salem Street intersection on Wednesday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. because of paving work that will have just one side of the street open at a time.
Family Activity: Today at 3:45 p.m., bring the kids by the Lynnfield Library for a “Frog And Toad” party to celebrate the birthday of children’s author Arnold Lobel. Along with hearing some of Lobel’s stories, the kids will also make a frog-themed craft.
Veterans Workshop: Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m., ElderCare Advantage presents a workshop at Sunrise Senior Living on Salem Street for veterans, widows of veterans and adult children of veterans focusing on “The forgotten VA pension for senior veterans.” Reservations required, call 781-245-0668.
Lunch And Lecture: The next lunch and lecture at the Lynnfield Senior Center is this Thursday at 12:30 p.m. Bob Tremblay will talk about indoor and outdoor gardening, with lunch served at 11:30 a.m. for $3. Sign up for lunch and the talk separately in advance at the front desk.
LHS Sports: Today at 3:30 p.m., the boys varsity tennis team plays at home against Triton. At 3:45 p.m., the varsity and JV baseball teams both play against North Reading, also at home. In fact, the varsity game will also reportedly be for the Cape Ann League Division 2 title, or for joint custody of it at least, so good luck to the Pioneers today.
