Do You Know Where This Was Taken?

Each week, Lynnfield Patch runs a photo taken somewhere in town and invites readers to guess where it's from.

Ancient legend tells of the mysterious stone shark fin that can be spotted by sharp-eyed locals. Some say it's a monument left over from St. Brendan The Navigator's visit to the New World in the 5th Century. Others say it's the work of a witch who was long feared by the Indians and early settlers. And still others say it's all a bunch of hooey cooked up by some local Patch editor on a Friday afternoon. Whatever this thing may be - and there's a good chance a lot of us have walked right past it - do you know where this is?

Close! But it's actually a short drive to another spot in town...

Hmmm, the only other bodies of water I can think of would be Suntaug Lake, but I don't recall seeing this at Newhall Park....could it be off of Audubon Rd. behind the Hilton? Speaking of which, is that Hilton staying, or will it be demolished, too, with the new construction going on in that area?

I took the photo a while ago, but it's at Newhall Park - it's a leftover from December when I took the photos for a Patch gallery called "A Study Of Suntaug Lake" http://lynnfield.patch.com/articles/photos-a-study-of-lake-suntaug#photo-8600399

Also, I don't believe there are any plans affecting the Hilton on Market Street. The work is a bit beyond that area more toward BSC and Walnut Street.

Thanks, William. I will have to start opening my eyes more!

Re Market Street, I have not been over that way recently. Sounds like (if not already done), a lot of re-grading work is in store for the future. Lots of memories of sledding down the hill by the Colonial many years ago.
