The Lynnfield METCO program has announced that it's annual Building Bridges Through Art and Music concert is on Wednesday, February 13th at 7 p.m. this year. The concert, which highlights African-American and African music and culture, is held in the Lynnfield Middle School auditorium. The concert includes a mix of guest musicians and Lynnfield student musicians.
"Lynnfield METCO Helping Hands members are involved in the planning and execution of this project. This program works to bridge the Boston and Lynnfield communities through artistic expression. The communities will share their commonalities through these expressions and learn about the beauty inherent in both cultures," wrote Lynnfield METCO Director Lelo Masamba in the annnouncement.
"Our keynote speaker will address preparations for a successful college life and issues related to isolation in students of color. Please join us as we celebrate national and international music, dance and culture related to the African American heritage," she added. For more information, email masambal@lynnfield.k12.ma.us.
