5 Things You Need To Know Today, Feb. 2

Snow/sleet set to taper off later in day.

 

Winter Blast: A winter storm warning will be in effect until 1 a.m. tonight, with up to a foot of snow possibly set to fall in total between Tuesday and Wednesday.

No End In Sight: According to the Lynnfield DPW, 5.5 inches of snow fell in town  yesterday, bringing the total up to 68.5 for the season.

Hunger Awareness Breakfast: There will be a hunger awareness breakfast fundraiser at Thomson Country Club in North Reading on Saturday, March 19 at 9:30 a.m. Dorothy Goodwin, president of local nonprofit Gathering Change, Inc., and Sandy Carriker of the North Reading Food Pantry will speak about the current hunger crisis. Tickets are $30.00. Proceeds benefit North Shore food pantries. The Feinstein Foundation will also match a percentage of these funds.

A Night of Music: Later this month, the Building Bridges Celebration is scheduled for Thursday, February 17 at the Middle School. For more information, click here.
